FUDCon an International Fedora Users and Developers Conference was hosted by MAEER’s MIT College of Engineering. The conference was organized in association with Red Hat and Fedora Community. The conference received a huge response with more than 500 participants from all over the country and from Asia Pacific region. There were speakers from US, Singapore, Tibet, Japan, Czech Republic, India. From India participants and speakers were from Delhi, Bangalore, West Bengal, Aurangabad, Pune to mention a few.
FUDCon Pune 2015 had 13 hands-on workshops; 36 technology deep dives and 3 specialized tracks namely Distributed Storage, Containers and Openstack. The conference gave a common platform for students, researchers, and faculties to share their ideas views with industry. These type of conferences give students an opportunity to interact directly with the industry experts who are contributing toward the technology.
The inaugural ceremony was blended with a panel discussion on ‘Free and Open Source Software in Education’.
Day 1 [ Friday 26th June 2015] started with the keynote delivered by Mr. Dennis Gillmore, USA on ‘ Delivering Fedora for everything and everyone’. He leads the Fedora Release Engineering Team, and is responsible for maintaining the Fedora Build system.
Day 2 [Saturday,27th June 2015] started with the talk of Jiri Eishchmann on ‘The present and future of Fedora Workstation ‘. He is Fedora ambassador for the Czech Republic since May 2011.
Day 3 [ Sunday 28th June 2015] was full of workshops.
